Management committee

The Management Committee was established by Resolution to act as an advisor or an administrative board to the Council. Its main responsibilities are to resolve management problems and to provide a decision making process in step with the policies of the Council. It may at times refer issues or exercise certain prerogatives of the Council or of the Executive Committee.

The Management Committee can authorize expenditures for day-to-day operations, not exceeding 75 000,00$ and must ensure the proper administration of these funds.

The six Committee members are appointed among senior personnel and, in an ex-officio capacity, they represent the Officers of the Cree/Naskapi Act (of Quebec) who are the Chief, the Deputy Chief and the Nation Corporate Secretary. A permanent member is the Treasurer who ensures that all financial matters respect the policies and the By-laws and Regulations. A majority of members must be in attendance to form a quorum to make decisions and recommendations.
